Transformative Approaches to Ending Police Violence

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The authority and power that police assert in Detroit has not led to safety for the people. As we take back power in our communities, we must work to hold the government and police accountable. We will decode nonviolent/restorative justice terms for our communities. We will use zines as a method of community-building and explore strategies for observing and recording police as a deterrent to state violence. We will leave with an online database of language and media tools and the ability to live-stream "copwatch" video. Please note: this is a two-part, three hour session.
